San Antonio-Kansas City Deal: Gabriel for Sánchez Saturday, November 11th, 2023 It came down to the last hour of a self-imposed trade deadline, but the San Antonio Aztecas and Kansas City Wheat Kings finally came to an agreement on a trade that had been rumored for weeks. The trade sends San Antonio's 26-year-old LF Alberto Gabriel to Kansas City in a swap for 27-year-old RHP Rodrigo Sánchez and 20-year-old minor league C Guillermo Cisneros. Both GMs seemed relieved that the deal had been completed with one stating, "We had to set a deadline to get it done." The players are expected to report to their new teams by tomorrow. Gabriel currently has a career .268 batting average with 276 hits, good for 28 home runs, 149 RBIs and 148 runs. Lifetime Sánchez has compiled a 18-24 record with a 5.34 ERA in 54 starts. |
