Houston, Dallas Confirm Trade Thursday, December 14th, 2023 The Black Gold have reached a deal with Dallas, sending 28-year-old C Bryan Thompson and $12,600,000 in cash to the Brahmas in exchange for 23-year-old LHP Lorenzo Contreras, 21-year-old minor league SS Ramón Chapa, 22-year-old minor league 3B Tony Nix and 23-year-old minor league RHP Augusto Sosa. Reports had been hinting at a deal in recent days, but weren't confirmed until this afternoon. During his career Thompson has hit .315 with 796 hits, 48 home runs, 357 RBIs and scored 343 runs. Contreras has a 1-3 won-lost record over his career with a 2.76 ERA. In 29 games he has recorded no saves and the 23-year-old has 46 strikeouts in 65.1 innings of work. |
