Morales Selected Top Performer in SL Monday, August 21st, 2023 24-year-old Jorge Morales made a few Jacksonville headlines during this past week as the rookie catcher proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Southern League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 7 hits in 8 at-bats to put up a .875 average. Morales collected 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and scored 2 runs. So far on the season Morales is hitting .286 with 5 home runs, 21 RBIs and 15 runs scored. He has 28 hits and played in 30 games. |
