Saloons Ayala Named CAR's #1 Player Monday, August 28th, 2023 The Carolina League has selected its Player of the Week. The honor went to Gilberto Ayala, center fielder of the Kinston Saloons. In a standout performance, he lit up the league with a .476 average to win the award. Ayala went 10-21 for the week, totaled 2 home runs with 5 RBIs and scored 3 times. For the season Ayala is batting .289 with 131 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 56 times and batted in 54. |
