García Slams 5 Hits for Fort Myers Sunday, August 20th, 2023 History in the making. That's what the fans at Ballpark of Brevard County got to see today, when Fort Myers outplayed the Spin Doctors 11-4. Alonso García of the Millers came to the plate 5 times and came away with a dynamite day as he exploded for 5 hits against Brevard County. In the postgame press conference the Brevard County skipper quipped to reporters, "Hey, we tried to get him out. We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the kitchen sink." Alonso García doubled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 9th. This year García has batted at a .275 pace with 61 hits, 8 home runs, 47 RBIs and scored 34 times. |
