Charles Smith Out 5-6 Months
Sunday, August 20th, 2023
Baseball can be a contact sport at times. It can exact a harsh toll on a player's body. In a recent game against Tampa Ospreys, Minutemen reliever Charles Smith was injured throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 5-6 months with a fractured elbow. The team did not announce any roster moves today related to this injury. The St. Lucie skipper told BNN that personnel decisions would be announced as early as tomorrow.
This year Smith has pitched 40 innings over 52 relief appearances, picking up no saves and held opponents to a .286 average. Smith has a 5-3 record with a 4.95 ERA and 37 strikeouts.
