Injury Forces Tomoyuki Yamauchi Out Tuesday, August 22nd, 2023 Earlier today, Elkhorn closer Tomoyuki Yamauchi had to leave the game against South Omaha because of an injury. Team officials are reporting that he has shoulder inflammation and will miss 4 months of play. Yamauchi was hurt throwing a pitch and was unable to continue playing. He will be evaluated this afternoon by team physicians. Yamauchi has 12 saves this year. In 30 relief appearances he has tossed 60.2 innings, fanned 51, and given up 35 walks with a 1-6 record. The Elkhorn reliever has recorded a 6.23 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .298 when he is on the mound. |
