2006 NLCS MVP: Houston v. Miami
The 2006 Stroh's NLCS MVP Award goes to.....
CF NEAL BAUER, HOU. Round of Applause.
Bauer joined the Black Gold Playoff roster after a late season injury to starting CF Bill Knapp. Bauer really came alive in the NLCS vs. Miami. In the first 2 games he went 1-8 while batting 9th for Houston, however, it was Games 3 and 4 that Bauer made his presence known in a surprising way. In Game 3 Bauer went 2-3 with 2R, 2 RBIs, 2B, and a HR. He followed that up in Game 4 with a 2-3, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2 HR Performance which subsequently earned him the Game 4 Player of the Game. Houston really spread the offense and pitching around in their quick sweep, making it hard to pick just one individual for the Stroh's MVP, however, Bauer's 5-14, 4 R, 5 RBI, 3 HR and Game 4 POG Award was definitely a notch above his teammates. Hopefully he'll savour the moment with a cold Stroh's while contemplating that his career has peaked and it will never be this good and he may be facing homelessness and despair in years from now while the Banditos will still be dominating the NL.
